Pet Series for Charity

Pet Series has always stood as an ambassador in defense of animal rights. The animal world must be protected and safeguarded from the cruelty of man and industry.

Every year, the global leather industry causes the death of more than a billion animals by tanning their skins through processes that are extremely harmful to the environment, also causing deforestation and pollution.

Sensitivity to the problem led Pet Series to choose a product without animal components, abolishing the use of leather from production and thus opting for an EcoFriendly and Sustainable Collection.

Through extensive research and testing to guarantee the public a replacement material of equal quality and durability, Pet Series found a green-living, high-quality, long-lasting solution composed primarily of organic and renewable resources such as corn cobs. Production requires less water and generates less carbon dioxide than traditional coated cloth.

And from this new Made In Italy material, the Black & White Collection was born.

Pet Series activity is not limited only to the production process. From data forwarded by animal welfare associations such as the Anti Vivisection League (Lav) and the National Animal Protection Agency (Enpa), the serious problem of abandonment emerges. In Italy there are an estimated 500-700 thousand stray dogs; stray animals are just one of the consequences of abandonment, which besides being a morally reprehensible act is also a crime. Eighty percent of them are at risk of being victims of an accident, dying of starvation or being mistreated.

From these alarming figures, Pet Series has decided that part of the proceeds from sales will be donated to Non-Profit Organizations that address rescuing and caring for animals in distress and abandonment and also engage in adoption research. Each year a different NPO will be benefited on a rotating basis so that more associations can be supported. Every customer who makes a Pet Series purchase will receive a card with the details of the benefited association when their order is delivered.

At the beginning of this new chapter is the choice to support the National League for the Defense of Dogs - Milan Section.

Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane - Sezione di Milano

La Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane - Sezione di Milano is a nonprofit organization that operates thanks to the support of its members and the commitment of many volunteers, fighting tirelessly to help animals in need, abandoned, abused and disrespected.

Activities

Thanks to the perseverance and commitment of its supporters, the kennel has turned into a model facility where every year about 500 animals are, on a rotating basis, taken in, cared for, and scrupulously fostered by families for life.

In addition to sheltering, rescue and adoption, the National League for the Defense of the Dog - Milan Section also deals with other emergency situations, the organization of events and training projects, rehabilitative placements for young people, support for cooperatives of differently abled children, and, thanks to assiduous monitoring, lost animals often find their owners through multiple appeals.

Among the latest goals happily achieved should be mentioned the new cattery, a department entirely dedicated to found and abandoned kittens that the shelter is hosting in increasing numbers.

The structure

The Segrate Kennel Shelter is a state-of-the-art facility, recently renovated to give all guests maximum comfort. It works in agreement with 14 municipalities in the area, from Segrate to Rodano, but also collaborates with Sardinia and with the National League for the Defense of Dogs sections in southern Italy, which often struggle with crowded kennels.

To offer maximum care and ensure the well-being of guests from the moment they arrive, the kennel has always employed Veterinary Doctorsto help the furry ones and advise families for a serene adoption and happy cohabitation!
