Switzerland has become a unique brand. The iconic images it offers to the big screen capture the splendour of its landscapes, justifying the efforts of filmmakers to shoot scenes on location or to construct elaborate backdrops encapsulating its essence. Each year new films are shot in Switzerland.
BACKDROP SWITZERLAND invites you to discover – or rediscover – Switzerland through a wealth of images which present the country through the eyes of filmmakers and thus play a part in defining its identity. This 432-page book (over 1'000 images), written in four languages (English/French/German/Italian) and supported by the Cinématèque suisse, was published in 2016 by L’Age d’Homme in Lausanne, Switzerland.
